ALWAYS IN MOTION
MIM PROGRAMS
L.I.T.- A creative writing program geared towards young people. This program focuses on poetry and creative writing to help them express themselves and experience a sense of pride, self-expression, and entrepreneurship by helping them write, edit, and ultimately publish their own books.
Positive Press- Artistic interpretation is taught through the form of Screen Printing. Positive Press instructs each participant the fundamentals of screen printing and entrepreneurial skills needed to transform them into a self-sufficient marketplace.
Robotics- The FIRST Robotics Competition gives high school students and their adult mentors the opportunity to work and create together to solve a common problem. Challenged to design and build a robot using a standard "kit of parts" and within a common set of rules to play a sophisticated field game − all in just six weeks− brings out the best in students and adults alike. The robot “game” changes every season and is always exciting.
EXPANDING MINDS
S.L.I.C.K. – A hands on, real life regulated environment which teaches life skills, decision making, and healthy coping mechanisms. Participants will be challenged to make life altering decisions in a simulated community.
Awareness Lab – The youth radio project will meet during school and occasionally on weekends. The radio series project will consist of selecting a show concept for each episode, conducting research, writing scripts, and recording the audio & voice acting. Post production concepts including editing, and mixing will also be embedded into this program.
HD Fitness – Mentors in Motion believes in educating and nurturing each child according to the highest standards of athletic excellence. With this program we teach responsible behaviors during sports and teamwork during competitions. Our athletic department strives to stimulate students to think cohesively and cooperatively as a team. We also want to ensure a mastery of athletic skills appropriate for participation in a competitive athletic league.

In additon to our regular programs, MIM will work with several existing programs to enrich the experience for each youth. These programs will ensure our participants are given the opportunity to try out new things, as well, as expand on the hidden gifts and talents they may not realize they possess.
